Maria Tsaptsinos

...started playing table tennis during the last year of her primary schooling and then joined Kingfisher club whereas she trained with Brian Halliday and later had weekly sessions with Gareth Herbert. Then she was invited to Lilleshall and Sheffield for the Youth Development Squad and consequently to the International Youth Squad. Represented England in various tournaments since 2012 and participated at the Youth Europeans as a Caded and Junior. In 2015 the first call for a senior cap came for the Europeans and Table Tennis Commonwealth.
Maria currently is a scholar at University of Nottingham studying Geography.
Her other interests include football, music and spends time socialising on facebook.

New Rankings

A very good performce during October moved Maria to the 5th place of the Cadets (previously 8) and to the 28th place of the Junior Girls (previously 44) by breaking the 1000 point barrier (existing points: 1089)! Lets hope for a similar performce during November!

Junior County Championships

Berkshire young guns win Junior County Championship Division

A very talented and young Berkshire Junior (under 18) team won the County Championships Division 1B (South) at the weekend of 16-17th of October by winning all seven of their matches.
Starting in Okehampton on Saturday, Berkshire played very well in beating Cornwall (8-2), Glamorgan (9-1) and finally hosts Devon (7-3). On Sunday the championships resumed in Bristol where Berkshire beat Dorset, Avon, Essex 2 all with an impressive10-0, and finally Surrey (9-1). This is the second year running that that Berkshire have gained promotion and they will start next season in the nation's top division – the Premier.
Maria's average: 10 wins out of 14.

Junior British League.

Girls Team of the Tournament (Helen, Chelsea and Maria)
The 2010-11 Junior British League commenced last weekend at the Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton. The St Andrew's team consisting of Chelsea Furnival, Helen Rutherford and Maria stand proudly at the first position of the Girls Second Division Table after having played against 5 other teams. The team was also awarded the Girls Team Of The Tournament.

Reading and District Table Tennis Association

Maria is part of the Polish B team led by Graham Diplock participating at Division 1. For Results and Fixtures follow the links.This is a very competitive division providing valuable experience to Maria.

Liverpool 4*

The weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of October Maria participated at the City of Liverpool four star tournament  for Cadets, Band 1 Cadets, Juniors and Band 1 Juniors. For the Band 1 Juniors Maria qualified for the knock out stages as group winner and successfully negotiated her first round encounters to reach the quarter-finals.For the Juniors again she reached the quarter finals losing on the fifth to Charleigh Kirby. For the Cadets top seed Emma Torkington (Sx) had a 2-0 lead against Maria and 15 all for the final set but Maria won the next two points, though, went the way of Miss Tsaptsino as did the remaining games which cemented her place at the top of the group earning her a last eight clash with Miss Slott who won 11-7 in the fifth.
