Stockton 4* Brief Report

Maria participated in three events.

• Cadets where she beat Ella Patel 3-0 at the final (3 8 8)
• Team event: Ormesby team with Jessica Dawso. Reached the final where they lost 3-1 to Grantham Tornadoes consisting of Emily Bates and Angharad Phillips. Maria managed to get a set against Emily.
• Juniors where she easily progressed through her group and then reached the quarter final which she lost to Angharad Phillips.

Junior British League - First Weekend

The St Andrews team consisting of Maria, Lois Peake and Lettitia McMullan participated at the first JBL weekend at Tipton, Division 1.
The final table found St Andrews at the first position joint leaders with Bankfield with 2 wins and 3 draws. Maria played 10 games (8 wins 2 lost) therefore an average of 80%.

Honours for Maria

The ETTA Honours Committee has awarded Maria with the prestigious Mike Watts Achievement Award as the girl player who has made the greatest improvement in rating points in the period between 1st of August 2010 and 31st of July 2011. The annual award is presented to the most improved player within all categories of the ETTA ranking system. The official presentation will take place during the English Junior and Cadet Championships in November.
