Maria Tsaptsinos

...started playing table tennis during the last year of her primary schooling and then joined Kingfisher club whereas she trained with Brian Halliday and later had weekly sessions with Gareth Herbert. Then she was invited to Lilleshall and Sheffield for the Youth Development Squad and consequently to the International Youth Squad. Represented England in various tournaments since 2012 and participated at the Youth Europeans as a Caded and Junior. In 2015 the first call for a senior cap came for the Europeans and Table Tennis Commonwealth.
Maria currently is a scholar at University of Nottingham studying Geography.
Her other interests include football, music and spends time socialising on facebook.

Clean sweep for England with 4 golds in the team events. The cadets with Maria and Lois won 5-0 against Scotland, Ireland, Wales, guernsey and isle of man.

Nationals second day

An early start for mixed doubles with Danny Lawrence. A win 3-0 for the first round against L & S Neil followed with a 3-0 defeat in the hands of Doran and Hicks who have reached the semifinal.

Nationals first day

In a group for the under21s with Jessica Dawson, Tressa Armitage and Janay Gibson Maria finished second with wins against Tressa 3-2 and Janay 3-1, losing to Jess 3-0 (6 8 7). Maria let Jess play her game rather than dominate with big and fast shots. Overall though a success considering Tressa is above her in ratings and all girls older than her.
